Sometimes mold and mildew stains appear in the most humid areas of the house, such as bathrooms and the cellar. These also tend to appear on some ceilings and on the upper part of some walls, as well as on the lower part of windows. These mildew stains are due to moisture condensation on the walls, which causes the appearance of molds and fungi that deteriorate the paint if it is not of very good quality. To remove those mold and mildew stains that appear due to condensation moisture, there are specific products on the market today that help us clean and treat the surface of the wall to prevent mold stains from reappearing.
In this case we have some mold stains due to moisture condensation under the window, and I’m going to treat them with Xylazel Solutions Mould Cleaner. Aluminum windows that do not have any thermal break system often cause condensation, and this ends up wetting the wall at the bottom of the window, creating the perfect environment for the growth of mold and mildew, and the appearance of stains. To clean the stains I will apply the product 10 to 20 centimeters away from the wall and leave it to act for a long time, to make sure that the stains are well removed. In this case I will leave it to act for an hour and a half. And then I have to rinse it with plenty of water.
Even so, stains may reappear, so it is advisable to treat the wall with a mold and mildew remover. It is easily applied with a cloth and brushes, let it dry for 4 hours and apply a second coat.
