This past weekend we had a craft fair at Os Pendellos de A Golada (Galicia), an excellent place to hold such a fair.
Here’s a video of some of the artisans I saw working at this craft fair. The sound… there’s nothing better than the sound of tools modifying the shapes of materials.
I’m also including some photos of various objects made from wood, although there were artisanal works of all kinds: forging, leatherworking, basketry, patchwork, musical instrument making, carpentry, jewelry, sales and tasting of typical Galician products, workshops for children, conferences…

One of the artisans who attracted the most attention at this edition of the craft fair was Arturo Iglesias with his pedal lathe, a highly sought-after turner for demonstrations who I believe works at the ethnographic museum of Grandas de Salime.

You can see more photos and find more information about the artisans we saw at this fair at Artesanía de Galicia and on the Facebook page of the Fundación Centro Galego da Artesanía e do Deseño.
